Pompeii is a wonderful place to see how life was before the time of Christ. The Etruscans were very advanced and this was one of their cities.

The second half of our field trip included us taking a boat over to Sorrento! From there we were supposed to go to Herculaniem, but there was a protest at the train station. Instead, we took a bus over to Pompeii.
Pompeii was a city that was “buried alive.” Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the city. The city was perfectly preserved and was excavated into what we see today. It’s neat seeing the ruins in Rome, but it is nothing like seeing a city of ruins. It was just an awesome experience to get to see something so historical!
