The European Way of Life

The American and European way of life differs. In Europe people are less stressed, enjoy family and friend time more and eat better. When we were in Velina, we saw many small stores that serve the community. Buffalo Mozzarella store, bread store, pastry store, candy store, deli, as well as men & women’s clothes stores. Refrigerators are small compared to ours and freezers almost non-existent. Food is bought on day of consumption for freshness. Pastry and candy are wrapped in decorative packages like a gift. When you get home you open it and enjoy it. From about 1pm to 4 pm most stores close. This is so family and friends can get together have lunch and talk. They enjoy being with each other.

It should be noted that the UK, although really a part of Europe, does not conform to the ‘European’ way of life (more is the pity)
