We love Italy any time of year. You can go in nice weather of Spring or Fall when crowds are not as bad as summer or in winter when crowds are art a minimum. The only time we don’t like is August when all Europeans are on vacation and Italy is at its hottest and most crowded. Spring is a special season world-wide. It is our exit from winter and the beginnings of new flowers, nicer days and the beach. Walks of Italy, a BLOG, talks about 6 reasons to visit Italy in the Spring. This BLOG is informative and amusing. I especially like their new Italian word, passeggelato, a combination of two Italian words (passeggiata – a stroll and gelato Italian ice cream).
The world loves ice cream but gelato is so much better than American ice cream. It is creamier but less fat making it softer and smoother. They grind fruits, nuts and candies into it creating interesting colors and flavors. On a hot or cold day, a gelato is just what is needed as you stroll Italian towns.
