Bread in Europe is so much better. It has crispy crust, soft inside and is so fresh. Everyone buys it fresh and eats it on the way home. When in France or Italy I especially love the bread. We buy it the day we want to use it. If any is left over (and that’s a big if!), we save it for breakfast.Did you know there are several types of Italian bread? Italicious lists 20 of them. How many have you tried in Italy? Bread is a central theme in Italian meals. You need it with cheese, salami, gravy (tomato sauce) or anything that needs sopping up. Great bread should have a very hard crust but soft fresh insides. There should be a distinct flavor as well. What is your favorite Italian bread.
