The Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast in southern Italy is world-famous for beaches, views and food. It starts at Sorrento and goes to Salerno. The road was originally built by the Greeks and is narrow and twists around mountain ledges. Views are spectacular. In the summer this road can be very crowded. If you encounter a bus on a tight curve, you must back-up allowing the bus the right of way. We included Naples and Pompeii in our video since most people fly into or take the train to Naples and Pompeii is close by. The Island of Capri is obviously not on the coast but is visited by travelers to this coast.

Once in Naples you can catch a bus, rent a car, hire a car service or take a ferry to the main cities on this beautiful coast:

We have more detailed videos of many of these cities. Just click the links above. Now come walk with us in the cities of the Amalfi Coast.

  1. Hi there George! Loved this vlog. Thanks to it I could identify one of the photos from my 1976 trip to Italy. It is of the same church shown in 4:06. Now I know it’s located in Amalfi. Do you remember the name of the church?
