Frankfurt is the center of the European Bank for Euros. It is a large modern city with an old wonderful center (Romeberg). The Main River flows through Frankfurt. It has wonderful pedestrian bridges over it. On the other side of the Main is where all the museums are located. They are all together so you can easily chose which you want to see and visit them.
The best way to see Frankfurt and get around is the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus & boat. Frankfurt is a very walkable city as well. It is an easy walk to everywhere. From the airport, take the ICE train (23 minutes) to the Central Train Station. We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel while in Frankfurt and at the Steigenberg Airport Hotel 3 weeks later on our way home.
I am a world citizen that travels to Europe, especially Italy, often. I am a dreamer and love discovering new small towns in Europe. I am passionate about Europe and want to share my passion with everyone who has been there or is dreaming about it.
Sit back and enjoy as I take you to some big cities and some small ones in Europe. I hope my passion gets passed along to you.

Title: Copenhagen
Country: Denmark
We flew from Helsinki Finland to Copenhagen Denmark in April of 2019. Copenhagen is a wonderful and fun city to visit. It is a city of bicycles and people. The people are very friendly unless you step into their bike lanes. The best way to see this city is the Hop-On-Hop-Off Busses and Boats. We take them around to see everything first then go back and get off at stops we want to visit. There are two lines available. We took the Stromma line. They had a special that gave us two days for the price of one. The busses and boat available on Stromma are:
Red Mermaid Tour (Bus)
Purple Christiania Tour (Bus)
Green Carlsberg Tour (Bus)
Blue Boat Tour (Boat)
A great place to visit and have lunch is the Reffen – Street Food market. It is a group of shipping containers that are food stalls, beer & wine stalls, gelato stalls, etc. There are picnic tables everywhere to sit and enjoy your lunch outdoors. Some stalls give free samples. The food is not expensive considering this is Denmark.
Things to see:
Christiania (Little Amsterdam)
Queens Palace
Little Mermain
Reffen (see Hop on Hop off above
Kissing Bridge
Canal Boat Ride (See Hop-on-Hop-off above)
Carlsberg Brewery (was closed being remodeled when we were there)
Malmo Sweden (acroos a bridge – you can take train)
Botanical Gardens
Rosenborg castle (across from Botanical Gardens)
Tivoli Gardens (amusement Park)
Central Train Station with its clock

Stockholm is a wonderful Scandinavian city in Sweden. It is located on the eastern side of Sweden on the Baltic Sea. It is a big seaport city. Getting to and from the Stockholm Airport is easy and can be inexpensive. The Arlanda Express Train leaves from under the arrivals terminal and costs about $32. We took an express bus from the airport to the Central Train Statin for a fraction of that cost.
We stayed at the Scandic Upplandsgatan Hotel a short walk from the train Station. We ate a meal at the Polpette Italian Restaurant on the pedestrian walkway (Drottninggatan) near the Central Train Station. Things to see in Stockholm are:
Old Town and Palace on Gamla Stan Island
Hop-On-Hop-Off Red Bus Tour
Kungstradgarten Shopping street
Stureplan Trendy bars and cafes
Vasa Museum with Viking ships
Come walk around Stockholm with us in this YouTube video:
Madrid is the capitol of Spain and is a wonderful city to walk, sites, eat food and drink wine. Tapas are the specialty for lunch and snacks before dinner. These are small portion plates that can be shared. Order several and try many new or old favorites from Spain. We order several tapas and some wine or sangria and make it a meal. For breakfast there are many options but a national favorite is churros dipped in melted chocolate. How can you say “No” to this?
When flying into Madrid’s airport remember there is the metro and the Renfe trains (c1, c10, etc). They are two different systems with different entrances and fees. If the metro does not go close to your hotel, try the Renfe lines.
Come wander around the small streets of Madrid, museums, the Palace, the Botanical Gardens and so much more:
Amalfi is located on the Amalfi Coast between Positano and Salerno. It is a major stop on the ferries from Naples, Sorrento, Capri, Positano and Salerno. The city is small and surrounded by mountains. The seaport is where the ferry or bus lets you off. You walk through the ancient walls into the main piazza. Your first site is the steps leading up to the cathedral and the fountain in the piazza.
Amalfi can easily be seen in a half day to a day. Many tourists then take a taxi or the bus up the mountain to Ravello, our next vlog. Now come walk with us around the town of Amalfi in our YouTube video below:

Put Italy on your Bucket List
If Italy is not on your bucket list, it should be. Watch the video below and see why so many people love and go to Italy.
Orvieto is a small city in Umbria Italy on top of a butte of volcanic tuff. It is a wonderful city to walk around. If you drive or take the train, you arrive below at ground level and must take a funicular up to the city. Once in the city you at an old fort that is worth investigating. There are small streets, wonderful restaurants and a marvelous Duomo (Cathedral).
We spent a day here. We arrived by train from Rome in the morning. We walked around the entire city. The shops were wonderful and had unique items to buy. Jo bought a purse from a woman who actually made it. We then had lunch and relaxed. We love taking in the Italian life all around us and talking with locals. After lunch we visited the huge Duomo. There are bible stories painted on the outside and throughout the inside if this unbelievable church.
After Duomo we walked more and saw the back edge of the city (opposite the funicular). From this edge, we could see down over the vast countryside below. This is a city to be enjoyed slowly.
Come walk with us around Orvieto in our YouTube video below.
Agropoli is a large town in Campania, south of Naples, south of the Amalfi Coast and south of Salerno. From Salerno you drive south past the ancient Greek ruins at Paestum to Agropoli.
Paestum
Agropoli, like many Italian cities has a modern part and an old city. The old city is high on a hill overlooking the sea. It has a wonderful castle with a moat (without water) and a drawbridge (no longer functional). We enjoy walking around the old city. As you approach you find yourself on a street of interesting shops leading up the hill. The street soon turns into a set of stairs leading into the old section. There is a wonderful church at the top. Turn right and follow the signs to the castle and views of the beach and sea.
This is the beautiful and romantic land of Benvenuto al Sud! What a wonderful place for a passegiata. The beautiful mountain city of Castellabate is just a little farther south.
Come walk with us in the old city of Agropoli. Click on the video below …
We love Firenze! It is a big and beautiful city. It is Italy. It is the capital of art and architecture in Italy. From the duomo to the ponte vecchio to the views this is an interesting city.
Stop at a bar or small restaurant and enjoy life as it passes by you. Have a cafè, panini, gelato or a glass of wine as you observe life.
Come and walk with us in Firenze in our video below and see this wonderful city…
